Free app from Favo
Vocabulary training might not be the first thing you associate with digital signage. But at Favo, we like solving small, everyday challenges – and sharing the results.
That’s how Spellycat came to life: a simple, browser-based app that makes it easier (and a bit more fun) to practise vocabulary.
No downloads. No login. Read more below, or try it now.
Spellycat is made for anyone learning new words – whether you’re a student, a teacher, or just trying to pick up a new language.
Here’s what you can do:
It’s straightforward, flexible, and designed to keep you going – even when you get things wrong.
Spellycat is a great companion for teachers, too! Share word lists with your students via a link or QR code – for example in a weekly plan or as homework.
This way, everyone can practise the words at their own pace.
Spellycat actually started as a student project.
Karen, who had a summer job with us while studying Information Technology, developed the first version as her first larger web project. Georg – now a full-time developer at Favo – was her supervisor at the time, and later helped refine and complete the app.
What began as a learning project has since become a tool that’s used by people in many different contexts – which we think is pretty great.
If you know someone who could use a little help with vocabulary learning, feel free to pass it on:
Small tools can make a big difference – especially when they’re easy to use.
